A Tribute to a Lifelong Member – And the Family Members Who Honored Him
Rodolfo Reyes, Sr. loved Members Only.
Roland Santos, grandson of Reyes Sr., wanted to honor his grandfather after he passed away at the age of 91.
Santos reached out to Members Only to inquire about purchasing Members Only jackets to show love for Reyes Sr. at his funeral.
Reyes Sr. is a retired U.S. Navy veteran. He has four sons and one daughter along with a bunch of grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren.
Their grandmother, Reyes Sr.’s wife, passed away in 2016. They were married for 65 years and enjoyed a life full of love and laughter.
Reyes Sr. dedicated the majority of his life to working hard. He completed 20 years of military service during the Korean conflict as well as the beginning of the Vietnam War.
When being away from family became too much to handle, Reyes Sr. retired from the U.S. Navy. During his service, he received awards such as the Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, five Good Conduct Medals, World War II Victory medal, and more.
After retiring from the military, the Reyes family moved to San Diego, California in 1982. Reyes Sr. found work as a building maintenance and housekeeper at the North Island Bachelor Officer’s Quarter (BOQ) in Coronado, CA. He then moved to a security guard position at the old Fedco store.
After finally retiring around the mid-80s, Reyes Sr. enjoyed time with his family along with his favorite pastimes - watching WWE and playing mahjong.
Reyes Sr. also enjoyed life by collecting his favorite article of clothing – Members Only jackets.
Members Only was extremely honored and humbled to help Reyes Sr.’s family honor him by wearing Members Only jackets at their grandfather’s funeral.
