Six Trends For Spring 2019 That Are In - And Three That Are Out
With the weather (hopefully) getting warmer soon, we’re setting our sights on spring fashion. We’re here to share six spring 2019 trends that are in – and three that are definitely out.
What’s In
Let’s look at some trends that are bound to pop up everywhere this season.
Beige
Beige is having a serious moment this season. For the true experimenters, try mixing different shades of beige for a head-to-toe look. Or, try adding a pop of beige to your outfit such as beige pants, shoes, or throwing on a Members Only Classic Iconic Racer Jacket in khaki to rock this trend.
Pastels and Neons
On the opposite end of the color spectrum, we have neons and pastels. Spring 2019 is all about any bright shade of neon or a softer shade of pastel. To wear this trend, try adding a small cross body bag in neon to your outfit. If neon isn’t your thing, go with pastels instead. Try structured separates or outerwear in this soft shade for the upcoming warm weather.
Utility
Fashion meets functionality in this spring 2019 trend. You can expect to see a lot of khaki, cargo pants, cotton drill, and patch pockets. If you’re looking to go all in on this trend, try a boiler suit. But if you’re just looking to dip your toes in the trend, try cargo pants or a utility inspired jacket.
Leather
While leather isn’t always associated with spring, this season leather and faux leather are gaining momentum – especially beyond outerwear. While black is a staple, update your leather-look with brown, white, or fiery reds. Both high shine and matte leathers are on trend this season.
Animal Print
Let’s be honest, animal print is always in, but spring 2019 will see a bigger push for animal print. This season, designers showcased python and leopard prints layered over floral summer prints. Try the trend out with playful prints on wrap dresses, feminine blouses, or pumps.
What’s Out
Here’s what you should pack away this season.
Ruffles
It’s time to trade in your ruffles for a more a fluid shape such as a long, relaxed dress. The longer, relaxed dresses are a day or night staple and are best worn in saturated bright colors.
Off the Shoulder Silhouettes
Spring 2019 is all about the one shoulder and strapless looks rather than the off the shoulder looks of previous seasons. While this style is still an effortless go to for spring and summer, 2019 is proving to transition to more modern and fun silhouettes.
Thigh High Boots & Stilettos
A previous favorite, thigh high boots and stilettos are being replaced more knee high or midi boots. For all the stiletto lovers out there, try replacing your thigh highs with a sleek pump or platform shoe. And heel-haters can rejoice thanks to the shift towards the sporty sandal trend dominating this season.
While we’re all about expressing ourselves and wearing what we want, sometimes it’s fun to incorporate a new trend here and there. Whether you’re looking to dive head first into some of the spring 2019 trends or just dip your toes in the water, the most important thing is you make them your own.
